Comcast plans to eliminate 159 positions in Washington, with the first departures expected on December 31, 2026. The company filed its notice with the state Employment Security Department on October 29, according to MyNorthwest.

Where the cuts are planned

The reductions cover remote employees and ten offices: Bellingham, Bremerton, two Everett locations, Olympia, Puyallup, Redmond, Seattle, Spokane and Vancouver. The report does not break down the count by office.

Comcast described the change as a redesign of its organizational structure, rather than moving the work elsewhere or replacing employees with contractors.

The timeline and next steps

Some employees are expected to remain into 2027 for continuity. The final departures are currently planned for March 26, 2027, so the announcement should not be read as 159 completed layoffs today.

Comcast said it would support applications for other company roles. Transfers have not been confirmed for individual employees.
