Foster has notified North Carolina of two permanent closures scheduled for March 5, 2027, affecting 181 workers in total.

The larger operation is at 2900 Lowery St. in Winston-Salem, where the record lists 169 workers. A second entry covers 12 workers at 1060 Taylors Creek Dr. in Greenville. Both share the same effective date and notice reference.

Both entries give October 21, 2026, as the notice date and October 22 as the receipt date, according to the NC Commerce summary.

What the records tell us

These records describe planned closures. They do not establish that the affected workers have already lost their jobs.

NC Business Desk reported on October 24 that the Winston-Salem location is a food distribution facility. The state entries cover these two locations, not every Foster operation.

The reviewed sources do not explain the company's reasons, individual severance arrangements or plans for the properties. Employees should check their employer's communications for their own schedules and arrangements.

If your job may be affected

Workers can explore support before the planned closing date. NCWorks resources through NC Commerce include free résumé and interview assistance, career guidance, job-search support and information about training.

The state also explains that WARN notices bring its Rapid Response team into the transition process. No Foster-specific session has been confirmed in the sources reviewed. A local NCWorks career center can explain the assistance currently available.
