Comcast has listed 634 affected employees in a Pennsylvania layoff notice covering two Philadelphia addresses: 1800 Arch Street and 1701 JFK Boulevard. The state's October notice lists the layoffs as beginning December 31, 2026, and ending December 31, 2027.

The state record does not say all 634 employees will leave by the end of 2026. It describes planned layoffs across that period, not job losses already completed.

What Comcast has said

In an October 30 report, KYW Newsradio described a company letter to Philadelphia's mayor explaining that Comcast is redesigning its organization to compete in a changing industry. The company said it remained committed to the city.

KYW also reported that the restructuring would create 1,100 positions company-wide, including 500 in Philadelphia. Those plans do not establish that affected workers have secured new jobs. The number in the layoff notice should not simply be reduced by the planned openings to produce a confirmed net job-loss figure.

What remains unclear

The public Pennsylvania listing does not divide the 634 positions between the two addresses or provide individual departure dates. It identifies this as a layoff, not a closure of the Philadelphia offices.

This is separate from the previously reported Washington notice covering 159 positions. Each state's figures and dates should be considered on their own rather than treated as interchangeable.

If your job may be affected

PA CareerLink Philadelphia offers free career development services, including career counseling and workshops on résumés and interviews. Its centers can help build an individual career plan. You can use its service-location directory or call 1-833-750-JOBS (5627) to ask where to start.

Your employer's individual notice is the starting point for your own work dates and next steps. Public workforce services can help with a job search, but they do not confirm a transfer or a specific separation arrangement with Comcast.
